ALSHUWAYER is a large-scale urban development project located in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. This comprehensive master-planned community spans approximately 1,400 acres and integrates residential, commercial, recreational, and institutional uses within a cohesive urban framework designed to create a sustainable and livable environment for residents and visitors.
The project features a diverse mix of housing typologies, community facilities, retail centers, and public spaces, all connected through a thoughtfully designed network of streets, pedestrian pathways, and green corridors. The landscape design plays a crucial role in defining the character of the development, with neighborhood parks, central plazas, and linear greenways that enhance the quality of life for residents while addressing the environmental challenges of the region.
As an Urban Designer on this project, Khaled Elnezily contributed to creating a comprehensive landscape master plan that establishes a strong sense of place while providing functional and aesthetically pleasing outdoor spaces throughout the development. The design incorporates sustainable strategies for water conservation, climate adaptation, and habitat creation, reflecting a commitment to environmental stewardship and long-term sustainability.
